The Ocean Fifty class, which was created in 2021 from the Multi50 class, is closely linked to the history of ocean racing. Over the past 15 years, this class has undergone a number of changes. It became more professional in 2015 before opting to use foils in 2017. A five-part documentary series entitled Océan Fifty is broadcast every year on Canal+.

The Ocean Fifty class is dynamic and thoughtful. It attaches great importance to its class rules, which guarantee accessible budgets for small and medium-sized companies, as well as sustainable performance and value for its boats. Its calendar includes a circuit and a major ocean race each year, notably the Route du Rhum and the Transat Jacques Vabre. A special feature of the Ocean Fifty class is that it is the only one to allow guests on board during the Grand Prix.
